Join us in Halifax for National Child Day (Satellite Event)

SAVE THE DATE!

This year National Child Day marks a special milestone: the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child!

On the heels of a federal election, Canada will also have a new government in place, making it a timely occasion to discuss the urgent, unfinished business of children's rights in Canada.

On November 20th, we will be gathering in Halifax – children, youth and adults together – to think about what well-being for children and youth in Nova Scotia looks like. The Steering Committee of the Nova Scotia Biannual Report on Child Well-being includes health leaders, clinicians, researchers and government officials and is looking at what we know about how children and youth are doing in our province. This group now wants to engage with children, youth, families and service providers on well-being priorities for young people in Nova Scotia and will kick-start this process on November 20.

While this event is taking place in Halifax, we will be a satellite event of a national forum in Ottawa! You'll get the chance to hear from children and adults from coast to coast to coast, and be a part of a national conversation on what it will take to make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up.
