We are pleased to announce that our Founder, Sara Austin, is returning to Children First Canada in a full time capacity as CEO, effective April 1, 2019.
Sara is a world class champion for children, with more than 20 years of global and Canadian experience in the charitable sector. She is the passionate visionary behind Children First Canada, and we are so pleased that will now serve as our CEO and as a Director on the Board. Sara will be based in Calgary, working alongside our Managing Director, Stephanie Mitton, who is located in Ottawa. We are excited to be expanding our team and increasing our capacity to realize our bold and ambitious vision to make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up.

We are also pleased to announce that Gail O’Brien has been appointed to the role of Chair of the Board. Gail is one of the founding Board members of Children First Canada and is a well renown champion for the health and wellbeing of children. Gail is a former trustee of the Hospital for Sick Children and now serves as a director of the Sick Kids Foundation. She is a trustee of the National Arts Centre, a member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health’s strategic advisory board at the University of Calgary, co-chair of the Council for Canadian American Relations, and former GM of Holt Renfrew Calgary. Children First Canada is pleased to welcome Gail to her new role as Chair of the Board.
